“Rising Son” is an introspective journey into the origins of my creative ambitions, tracing back to my early life. Initially, I was not a professional photographer but rather an amateur, at best, when this series began. Its inception stemmed from a simple exploration of my interest in portraiture—sometimes documentary in nature, other times serving as a personal gift to my family. Through this process, I engaged in a methodical assembly and disassembly, discerning the fundamental components of a photographic image: focus, light, and composition. What consistently endured was an authenticity so profound that it became clear nothing else was of consequence. These silent lessons, imparted over time without the need for explicit explanation, signified the foundation upon which my career would build. These portraits of boys serve as a catalyst, a poignant reminder of my origins, my own childhood, and my enduring humanity.
